Susan Stephen

I joined Leaders in January 2013 having worked in Real Estate, in Martinborough since 2002.

Under the umbrella of Ray White – Leaders in Real Estate, I have been able to build a strong real estate business. I sell properties in the Village, surrounding countryside and on the coast.

I completed a BBS majoring in Management and Marketing from Massey University in 2000 and worked in the administration and marketing sector of a local business. I joined John, my late husband, in real estate in 2002.

I have a PA, Tania DeJonge, who lives in Martinborough and runs an administrative business.

I am enthusiastic, committed to my career and passionate about introducing people to Martinborough and the region.

Historical Background

The youngest of the South Wairarapa towns, Martinborough was founded by John Martin in 1881 near Wharekaka, New Zealand’s first sheep station. Mr Martin purchased Huangarua and auctioned a portion of the property as small farms and township.  Bidding was not high and sites were purchased at bargain prices.  Martinborough had begun.  The Village’s streets also have interesting names – Dublin, Venice, Cologne, Naples, New York etc.  Borough status was gained in 1928 and the first mayor was Walter Martin, grandson of John.
